WASHINGTON, Oct. 11 -- Rep. Jim Himes, D-Connecticut, issued the following statement on Oct. 10, 2023:

I am sickened by the horrific attack by Hamas terrorists against the people of Israel. Thousands of innocent civilians, including American citizens, have lost their lives to this brutal, unprovoked violence. Many more have been injured or lost family members and friends. Israel can and will defend itself, and the United States will remain steadfast in our support . . .
