LACEY, Washington, July 19 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior's U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service issued the following news release on July 18, 2023:

As the Endangered Species Act turns fifty years old, it has brought about a conservation success story in the Pacific Northwest.
