Gila National Forest: Georgetown Mine Sites Cleanup Completed

SILVER CITY, New Mexico, June 2 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's U.S. Forest Service unit - Gila National Forest - issued the following news release:

The environmental remediation at the Georgetown Mines Site on the Silver City Ranger District of the Gila National Forest has been completed. The environmental remediation included the cleanup of six abandoned mine areas located northeast of Bayard and Santa Clara, New Mexico, in Grant County on Forest Service administered land . . .
