Jerrold Nadler, D-New York, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, issued the following opening remarks on May 18, 2021, during the markup of a bill (H.R. 2746) to amend Title 28 of the U.S. Code, to redefine the eastern and middle judicial districts of North Carolina:
