WASHINGTON, May 14 -- Rep. Colin Allred, D-Texas, issued the following news release:
Congressman Colin Allred (TX-32) voted to pass the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act to prohibit employers from firing or otherwise discriminating against pregnant workers and to require that workplaces make reasonable accommodations for pregnant employees to ensure they are safe and comfortable while on the job. The legislation, which Allred co-sponsored, passed the House with bipartisan support.
