WASHINGTON, May 8 -- Rep. John Moolenaar, R-Michigan, issued the following news release on May 7, 2021:
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released the latest monthly jobs report, showing an increase of 266,000 jobs, but falling short of the 1,000,000 jobs economists were expecting to be created during the month of April. The national unemployment rate increased to 6.1 percent.
