HELENA, Montana, April 24 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service - Montana Field Office issued the following news release:
Montana's 2010 population, at 989,415, was up 9.7 percent from 2000.
Population density, measured in people per square mile, was 6.8 in 2010, third lowest in the United States.
Montana's 58.1 million acres of land in farms and ranches ranks second in the nation behind Texas.
