Natural Resources Conservation Service Celebrates 5 Million Acres Enrolled in Conservation Easements

SALINA, Kansas, April 13 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service Kansas office issued the following news release:
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and private landowners have partnered to protect more than 5 million acres of wetlands, grasslands, and prime farmlands (an area the size of New Jersey). In Kansas, NRCS enrolled 162,520 acres, helping achieve this important conservation milestone.
