WASHINGTON, March 17 -- Rep. Brenda Lawrence, D-Michigan, issued the following news release:
U.S. Representative Brenda L. Lawrence (MI-14), Co-Chair of the Democratic Women's Caucus, voted to pass H.J.Res. 17, a joint bipartisan resolution to remove an arbitrary time limit previously set by Congress for the States to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). The ERA states: "Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on . . .
