OCALA, Florida, Feb. 9 -- The American Civil Liberties Union of Florida issued the following news release on Feb. 8, 2021 :
Three Ocala residents who are experiencing homelessness and thus had been repeatedly arrested under the city's open lodging ordinance today won their case challenging the ordinance's constitutionality when U.S. District Court Judge James S. Moody ruled that the ordinance "unlawfully punishes an individual based on their homeless status."
