WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 -- Sen. Christopher Murphy, D-Connecticut, issued the following news release:
U.S. Senators Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), and senate colleagues joined Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.) in re-introducing legislation to grant Washington, D.C. statehood. The bill was first introduced in 2013, would make Washington, D.C. the 51st state, finally give its citizens full representation in Congress, and also ensure that the citizens and elected leader . . .
