DETROIT, Michigan, Jan. 25 -- The United Automobile Workers issued the following statement:

"The principal existence for the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is to protect workers in the workplace against infringement on their rights to have a voice in the workplace.
"Both the former General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel, who refused to resign and were fired this past week, came from legal backgrounds with firms that were notor . . .
