WASHINGTON, Jan. 16 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia issued the following news release on Jan. 15:
A Texas man was charged yesterday and arrested today in Texas in connection with making threats regarding the riots at the U.S. Capitol last week.
Troy Anthony Smocks, 58, of Dallas, Texas, was charged by criminal complaint with knowingly and willfully transmitting threats in interstate commerce, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, . . .
