NEWARK, New Jersey, Jan. 13 -- The Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, Rachael A. Honig, issued the following news release on Jan. 12:
The former secretary treasurer of Local 2254 of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Union (AFSCME) today admitted embezzling $40,455 from the union's checking and savings accounts, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael Honig announced.
