NEW YORK, Jan. 7 -- The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund issued the following statement on Jan. 5:

Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley announced that his office would not seek charges against Kenosha police officer Rusten Sheskey, who shot and paralyzed Jacob Blake on Aug. 23, 2020. In response, Sherrilyn Ifill, President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF), issued the following statement:
