WASHINGTON, Jan. 7 -- Sen. Christopher Murphy, D-Connecticut, issued the following news release on Jan. 6:
U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) made the following statement on Wednesday regarding ongoing violence at the United States Capitol complex:
"Peaceful protest is deeply patriotic. Insurrection is sedition, and those that are taking part today in the attempted takeover of the Capitol, including the destruction and desecration of our nation's temple of democra . . .
