NEW YORK, Dec. 31 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Transportation Security Administration issued the following news release:

A man fled John F. Kennedy International Airport after Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers caught a 9 mm handgun loaded with seven bullets in his carry-on bag on Monday, Dec. 28.
