NEW YORK, Dec. 11 -- The American Jewish Congress issued the following statement:

The American Jewish Congress welcomes the normalization of ties between Morocco and Israel. Our President Jack Rosen has met King Mohammed before and found him to be open and welcoming.

Morocco has been a strong partner for peace behind the scenes for decades.

It's now thrilling, on the first night of Hanukkah, to see Morocco step into the light to publicly embrace Israel.
