Ecuador's President Issues Public Apology for Human Rights Violations of 16-Year-Old Girl on Behalf of the State

NEW YORK, Dec. 10 -- The Center for Reproductive Rights issued the following news release on Dec. 9:

Today, President Lenin Moreno of Ecuador, on behalf of the State of Ecuador, held a public act of recognition of responsibility for the sexual violence suffered by teenager Paola Guzman Albarracin that led her to suicide nearly two decades ago.
