WASHINGTON, Oct. 30 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection issued the following news release on Oct. 29:

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced today the implementation of biometric facial comparison technology at the pedestrian border crossings in Detroit, Michigan and Champlain, New York.
