In response to news that Istanbul's chief prosecutor is seeking aggravated life sentences plus 20 years for detained philanthropist Osman Kavala and scholar Henri Barkey, PEN America unequivocally condemns these absurd charges and calls on the government to release Kavala and drop all charges against both men.
