NEW YORK, Aug. 27 -- The Peter G. Peterson Foundation issued the following news release:
With the election just over two months away, voters continue to remain concerned about the growing national debt. The August Fiscal Confidence Index, modeled after the Consumer Confidence Index, is 47 (100 is neutral), showing that voters believe fiscal issues should be a top priority.
Nearly four-in-five voters (77%) say their level of concern about the national debt has increased . . .
