LATHAM, New York, Aug. 8 -- The New York State School Boards Association issued the following statement by Executive Director Robert Schneider:

It is encouraging to hear that New York's Covid-19 rates remain well within the threshold set for schools to be able to reopen with in-person instruction this fall. Districts will continue to strive toward that possibility.
But school boards also understand that it may be necessary to turn quickly to other opt . . .
