Transgender Law Center: U.S. Citizenship Is Not Required for Legal Name Change in Indiana

OAKLAND, California, July 24 -- Transgender Law Center, a 501(c)3 non-profit that works to change law, policy, and attitudes so that all people can live safely, authentically, and free from discrimination regardless of their gender identity or expression, issued the following news release on July 23:

A Court of Appeals of Indiana has taken the final step in the process and certified a decision that a state name-change law does not require a petitioner to be a U.S. citizen to change . . .
