WASHINGTON, July 17 -- Rep. Val Demings, D-Florida, issued the following news release on July 16:
Yesterday, Rep. Demings' resolution calling for increased diversity in American media was reviewed and passed by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, bringing it one step closer to law.
Co-leading the resolution is Rep. Jenniffer Gonzalez-Colon (R-PR) in the U.S. House, and Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) in the U.S. Senate.
