WASHINGTON, July 10 -- The Center for American Progress issued the following statement by Sam Berger, vice president of Democracy and Government Reform:
The Supreme Court ruled 7-2 that New York state prosecutors have the power to subpoena President Donald Trump's financial and tax records in a criminal investigation.
In a separate 7-2 ruling, the high court left open the possibility that Congress could subpoena the president's financial records.
