WASHINGTON, July 9 -- Rep. Eliot Engel, D-New York, issued the following statement on keeping the Mount Vernon Hospital open:
"This pandemic is far from over. The lack of leadership and strategic planning from the White House, coupled with reckless actions taken by governors and state leaders outside the tri-state area, have led to severe increases in COVID-19 cases across the country.
