WASHINGTON, June 27 -- Rep. Ron Wright, R-Texas, issued the following statement on the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act (H.R. 7120):
"I just voted NO on the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2020. I could not in good conscience vote for legislation that would cripple our police force and put the safety of Americans at risk.
George Floyd should be alive today. His murder is undoubtedly a tragedy. Americans across our nation are clamoring for meaningful law . . .
