WASHINGTON, June 27 -- Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Oregon, issued the following news release on June 26:
Rep. Peter DeFazio (OR-04) yesterday evening voted in favor of the Justice in Policing Act, comprehensive legislation to improve police accountability and change the culture of law enforcement.
"It is abundantly clear that systemic racism and oppression are present--and prevalent-- in law enforcement systems in communities across the country," said Rep. DeFazio. . . .
