WASHINGTON, June 26 -- Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, issued the following statement on June 25 on the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the Korean War:
"Seventy years ago today North Korea invaded South Korea, setting off the tragic Korean War.
"The war brought untold suffering to all sides. Nearly 1.8 million Americans bravely fought to defend South Korea. 33,000 Americans lost their lives in combat, including over 1,700 Texans.
