WASHINGTON, June 26 -- Rep. Will Hurd, R-Texas, issued the following remarks:
Rep. Will Hurd (R-Texas) voted on the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2020 (H.R. 7120). While Hurd ultimately supported the bill because it made a small step forward on police reform, he voiced discontentment prior to the vote for how the bill was drafted stating it was a "missed opportunity" and felt the bill failed to do "one simple thing--empower police chiefs."
