Sens. Coons, Risch, Menendez, Gardner Statement on China's Indictment of Canadian Citizens Kovrig and Spavor

WASHINGTON, June 25 -- Sen. Christopher Coons, D-Delaware, issued the following joint statement with Sens. Jim Risch, D-Idaho, Bob Menendez, D-New Jersey and Cory Gardner, D-Colorado, after the Chinese government announced it will prosecute two Canadian citizens, Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, on alleged spying charges. Kovrig and Spavor were detained on Dec. 10, 2018 in retaliation for Huawei Technologies Co, Ltd. Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou's arrest by Canadian authorities:
