ALBANY, New York, June 22 -- New York Attorney General Letitia James issued the following statement in response to the removal of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York:
"I am deeply concerned about the sudden removal of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, especially given serious questions about who gave the order and the timing of the firing.
"I hope the Department of Justice heeds its own advice and puts public service . . .
