UPTON, New York, June 20 -- The U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory issued the following news release:
Plants could be the ultimate green-energy machines, efficiently harvesting sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to make fuels and other carbon-based products--ideally on land that's unsuitable for growing food and without the need for massive amounts of water and fertilizer.
