WASHINGTON, June 20 -- Sen. John Boozman, R-Arkansas, issued the following news release:
U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) praised Senate passage of a resolution designating June 19, 2020, as "Juneteenth Independence Day'" in recognition of June 19, 1865, the date on which Union General Gordon Granger brought the news of emancipation to Texas.
