Senate Passes Sen. Boozman-Supported Resolution Honoring Juneteenth

WASHINGTON, June 20 -- Sen. John Boozman, R-Arkansas, issued the following news release:

U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) praised Senate passage of a resolution designating June 19, 2020, as "Juneteenth Independence Day'" in recognition of June 19, 1865, the date on which Union General Gordon Granger brought the news of emancipation to Texas. Boozman, a cosponsor of the resolution, released the following statement in celebration of Juneteenth.
