NEW YORK, June 20 -- New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer issued the following news release:

New York City's unemployment rate rose from 15.8 percent in April to 18.3 percent in May, bucking indicators of a potential national economic rebound according to an analysis of the city's employment situation released by New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer.
