WASHINGTON, June 20 -- Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minnesota, issued the following statement on June 19 regarding commemorating Juneteenth:
"This Juneteenth, as we celebrate this day that marked the end of slavery, we must also acknowledge the long winding road of justice.
"Enslaved Americans in Galveston, Texas waited more than two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation to receive notice they were free.
"Sadly, injustice and racism . . .
