ALBANY, New York, June 17 -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D-New York, issued the following news release:
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Covid-19 Maternity Task Force, Chaired by Secretary Melissa DeRosa, announced the Governor has directed the State Department of Health to allow midwife-led birthing centers in New York for the first time.
This directive to diversify birthing site options and support patient choice was one of six key recommendations of the COVD-1 . . .
