WASHINGTON, June 16 -- Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-New York, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, issued the following joint statement on June 15 with Rep. Karen Bass, D-California, chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, and Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tennessee, chair of the Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, on the Supreme Court's refusal to re-examine the doctrine of qualified immunity:
