NEWBURGH, New York, June 13 -- Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-New York, issued the following statement:
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trump Administration finalized a rule removing a provision within Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act prohibiting health care providers from discriminating against patients based on sex and gender identity. This rule change could potentially threaten access to health care for LGBTQ people across America during a global public health crisis.
