WASHINGTON, June 5 -- Rep. Gerald "Gerry" Connolly, D-Virginia, issued the following joint statement with Reps. Carolyn B. Maloney, D-New York and Peter A. DeFazio, D-Oregon, after Acting Inspector General Elliott told the Committees in a letter that he would not resign from his position as head of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration:
