WASHINGTON, May 29 -- Rep. Andy Levin, D-Michigan, issued the following statement the Child Care is Essential Act:

"I've heard from childcare centers and superintendents with early childhood programs across Macomb and Oakland County who are struggling, both in terms of facilities shuttered and those remaining open for essential workers. All are facing tremendous costs, whether to remain open safely or to reopen, and all are suffering declines in revenue and enrollment.
