WASHINGTON, June 5 -- Sen. John Hoeven, R-North Dakota, chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, issued the following statement after the Senate passed the Indian Water Rights Settlement Extension Act (S. 886) with a substitute amendment offered by Sens. Tom Udall, D-New Mexico, Jerry Moran, R-Kansas, and Mitt Romney, R-Utah:
