Texas Attorney General Says Public Employers Should Stop Collecting Union Dues Until Workers Opt in

MIDLAND, Michigan, June 2 -- The Mackinac Center for Public Policy issued the following news release:

The state of Texas should no longer automatically collect union dues for public employees, according to an opinion issued by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Instead, public employers must have proof of consent directly from employees before the state can collect union dues.
