WASHINGTON, May 25 -- Rep. Anthony Brindisi, D-New York, issued the following statement on Memorial Day:
"Today we honor our courageous men and women in uniform who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Each of us can do our part to support our fallen servicemembers and their families by never taking for granted the freedoms they fought so bravely to protect.
"They deserve our gratitude, appreciation, and respect not only today, but every day. . . .
