WASHINGTON, May 29 -- Rep. Brian Higgins, D-New York, issued the following news release:
Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-26) welcomed the news that the Administration is extending federal orders assigning National Guard members to COVID-19 response through mid-August. The President had previously indicated plans to end the current order when it expires on June 24, leaving National Guard members serving on the frontlines of the pandemic response ineligible for federal benefits.
