BUFFALO, New York, May 21 -- The State University of New York Buffalo campus issued the following news release on May 20:
Ferric Contrast Inc., a University at Buffalo spinoff, has received $750,000 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop iron-based contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Contrast agents are substances that are used in the body to help obtain better quality of images of organs, tumors and other biological structures.
