As the rapid spread of the coronavirus overwhelms prisons across the country, U.S. Senators Brian Schatz (D-Hawai'i) and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) introduced new legislation that would accelerate the Bureau of Prisons' (BOP) approval process for compassionate release during a public health emergency.
