NEW YORK, May 8 -- The New York Health and Hospitals issued the following statement on May 6 by Executive Director Cristina Contreras:
"Today, we hosted a ribbon-cutting to mark the completion of the first 20 of 120 temporary ICU beds at NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx to help manage the surge of COVID-19 patients and to triple ICU bed capacity in the public hospital system's response to the pandemic.
