WASHINGTON, April 28 -- Rep. Stephen F. Lynch, D-Massachusetts, chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Subcommittee on National Security, issued the following statements with Rep. Mark Green, R-Tennessee, after the Veterans Affairs Department confirmed it will conduct a health study to examine whether U.S. servicemembers and veterans who deployed to Karshi-Khanabad Air Base in Uzbekistan after Sept. 11, 2001, are more likely to experience adverse health effects:
